Display Screen Equipment

If computers or other display screen equipment are used in your business then a risk assessment may need to be carried out to determine what, if anything, needs to be done to comply with the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992.

While the risks from the use of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) may not be as obvious as those presented by an engineering production floor or offshore oil rig, a huge number of people are potentially at risk from the misuse of this equipment. If your employees are complaining of...

  • aching shoulders, arms or hands
  • headaches; or
  • eye strain

...then their workstation may need to be brought up to the required standards.

If you think that updating workstations is going to cost you a lot of money, think again. Most workstations can be improved simply by rearranging the equipment you have already.

As an occupational hygienist with 20 years experience, I can assist you in carrying out the assessments required by the Regulations.

If you need help with display screen assessments, contact me, Paul Leadbetter.
